Description
MoMA · MoMA Design Store
Five glass trees that look beautiful in daylight — and simply magical when they glow at night.
Five small glass Christmas trees, five colours, each lit from within by warm LED lights. The electroplated glass catches the light from inside and gives it a depth and warmth that ordinary LED decorations simply don’t have. A built-in timer switches the trees on automatically in the evening and off again after six hours — no switches, no thinking about it. From the MoMA Design Store, New York.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is in the set?
The set contains five electroplated glass Christmas trees in five different colours: orange (H 28 cm), blue (H 25.4 cm), yellow (H 23.5 cm), green (H 21.6 cm) and pink (H 17.8 cm). Each tree has its own shape and proportions — the five together create a complete Christmas scene that looks good from every angle. You’ll need 9× AA and 6× AAA batteries (not included).
How do the trees glow — and how bright are they?
Each tree is lit from the inside with warm LED lights. The electroplated glass amplifies the light and creates a soft, golden glow — warm and festive, not harsh. In daylight the colours and glass shimmer on their own; when the trees come on in the evening, they create an atmosphere that is genuinely different from LED string lights or plastic decorations.
How does the timer work?
The built-in timer runs on a fixed cycle: 6 hours on, then 18 hours off. Once switched on, the timer repeats this cycle automatically every day — the trees come on at the same time each evening and switch off without any input from you. The timer also significantly extends battery life compared to decorations left on continuously.
What batteries do I need, and how long do they last?
The set requires 9× AA and 6× AAA batteries (not included). Thanks to the 6/18-hour timer, the batteries last considerably longer than with decorations left on continuously — many people find one set of batteries sees them through the entire Christmas season.
Who is this the perfect Christmas gift for?
For people who want genuine Christmas atmosphere without the usual kitsch. Design enthusiasts who want their shelf or table to feel special during the season. A considered gift for someone who already has everything, or for anyone looking for a first truly beautiful Christmas set rather than something from the decoration aisle. The MoMA Design Store name tells the recipient exactly what kind of object this is.
