Description

ULF SEYDELL

Walk past once – and suddenly cowbells ring out across the alpine pasture.

The “Alm-Rausch” Klangstelle by Ulf Seydell is a small block of solid, oiled oak (9.6 × 9.6 × 4 cm) with a secret: a motion sensor notices when someone walks by and sets cowbells ringing for around 100 seconds. Behind the cut-out cow's head sits the speaker, backed with cowhide. The object stands freely on a shelf or hangs on the wall like a picture – bringing the feeling of your last mountain holiday into the hallway. Handmade in Wiesbaden, Germany.

How does the Klangstelle work?

A built-in motion sensor reacts when someone walks past and starts the cowbells for about 100 seconds. Use the thumbwheel on the side to adjust the volume and switch the object on or off – at night, for example, or when you need some quiet.

How is it charged?

It has a built-in rechargeable battery that charges via micro-USB with any phone charger; the cable is included. After about 1.5 hours the battery is full and the LED glows green.

Can I hang it on the wall?

Yes. The Klangstelle stands on a shelf, chest of drawers or windowsill, or hangs on the wall like a small picture – in the hallway, for instance, where most people pass by.

Who is it a good gift for?

For mountain lovers, hikers, skiers and anyone who misses their alpine holiday. As a housewarming gift for a holiday cabin or a farewell present for colleagues moving to the mountains, it raises a smile – at the latest when it rings for the first time.

What is it made of?

Solid, oiled oak and felt. The speaker behind the cow's head is backed with real cowhide, and the lettering “Alm-Rausch” is engraved. Each piece is handmade in Wiesbaden, so the grain is different on every one.

Klangstelle Alm-Rausch – a mountain holiday for your wall.
